At first when seeing this I thought it was something which had been created on an art or graphic program, and it struck me as beautiful, and extremely in depth in its detail and macabre style. After clicking on the image to further examine it I was pleasantly surprised to find it was an amazingly captured photograph, the angle you've taken lights the picture in a way which draws your eyes from top to bottom and back up again, as if you were actually there, exploring this yourself. The grain on the wood really adds a sense of character to this peice, sparking the imagination into dark and twisted places, yet bringing the promise of something brighter from the shadows. The way the lower floor has a dark, almost twilight feel to it reminds me of the Underworld, realm of the Greek God Hades, and the rubble (I assume thats what it is) near the column on the far right, resembles the shape off a man, and seems to look akin to a spectral form in the shadows. And on the other scale of things you have light pouring in from the windows, and dispelling the darkness to brighten the night with a fiery life. At first I could say it reminds me of Zues and speak of some sort of brotherly meeting of light and dark, which it does a little. But the more I look at the shades and textures of the image, the more I am reminded of the God Apollo and Titan Helios. One bringing the others light to the far reaches of earth, engulfing the world in an unquenchable flame. And at the mention of Apollo, his sister Artemis reminds me of the nocturnal effect of the lower floor, the moon and the sun captured between heaven and hell, and the contrast between these two warring aspects is shown in perfect harmony in this piece. Truly amazing is all I have left to add. Hopefully this has been well received.
